Mapping Neurodiversity: An Introduction to OpenStreetMap In-person
Join the ASU Library to learn about the open-source mapping platform OpenStreetMap and its potential to support accessibility and neurodiverse communities.
Led by social sciences librarian Tim Feller, this session explores how collaborative, community-driven geospatial tools can reimagine how we design and navigate spaces, from university campuses to global cities. By using specific sensory language to “tag” spaces in Open Street Map, participants can give neurodivergent people certainty and understanding about the places they can access.
The session will feature an introduction from Matthew Toro, director of the Map and Geospatial Hub, who will share geographic information resources available to the ASU community.
Whether you're new to digital mapping or passionate about inclusive design, this session will spark ideas and deepen your perspective on how open source data can empower neurodiverse communities.
Light refreshments and comfortable seating will be provided.
